Since 1998, Trees, Water & People (TWP) has taken a community-based approach to environmental progress. With partners in Central America, Haiti, and Native American reservations in the United States, TWP develops sustainable, community-based approaches to managing natural resources- moving people beyond survival and into success.

In Central America and Haiti, TWP runs reforestation programs through local nurseries that create job opportunities while stabilizing soil, protecting water supplies, and creating a sustainable supply of firewood. At the same time, the nonprofit works with locals to manufacture and distribute fuel-efficient cookstoves, reducing the need for biomass by 50-70% per stove, protecting existing forests.

Their Tribal Lands Renewable Energy program features the manufacture and distribution of solar heating systems, made and installed by Native Americans in the communities where they live. Each solar heater reduces heating costs and dependency on fossil fuels by an average of 20-30% per household. Together with the Henry Red Cloud, TWP also offers green jobs training for people on reservations throughout the Great Plains of the United States.

As a proud partner of Trees, Water and People, EcoJoia provides merchandise to support its humanitarian and environmental initiatives. 25-50% of every sale of EcoJoia’s Trees, Water & People merchandise is donated directly to Trees, Water & People.
